The complete map of the five-year journey, Grades 8–12 — every counsellor session, every workbook worksheet, every milestone — with the foundation years (Grades 6–7) where the record begins, and how the same journey flexes across CBSE, ICSE/ISC, Cambridge and IB. A companion reference to the Programme Introduction.
Three ideas organise everything below. A milestone is a sentence the student can say in their own voice, with proof in their own hands — never merely an event that happened to them. A worksheet is that proof: written mostly at home, brought into the conversation, not filled during it. A session (a “sitting”) is where the counsellor discusses, witnesses, and records the milestone. Each year's work becomes the next year's raw material — the Grade 8 letter is opened in Grade 9; the Grade 9 look-back becomes the Grade 10 baseline; the evidence gathered from Grade 9 onward becomes the Grade 12 personal statement.
Research is clear that career aspirations begin forming well before Grade 8 — shaped quietly by the people around a child and the possibilities they are shown. So the journey's record begins earlier than its counselling ladder.
| Grade | What happens today |
|---|---|
| Grade 6 | Every student receives the RI Learning Profile™ — how this child learns, what engages them, and their emerging learner archetype. Deliberately, there are no career titles at this age: only problems they care about, people who inspire them, and skills they are growing. This profile becomes the first page of the longitudinal record the whole journey measures from. |
| Grade 7 | The widening year — the world is kept broad, curiosity is fed, and the Grade 6 profile matures with the child. A guided journey layer for the foundation years is in development, grounded in the same evidence-first standard as the rest of the programme, and is introduced to partner schools after field testing. |
The counselling ladder below — sittings, worksheets, witnessed milestones — begins at Grade 8, when self-knowledge is ready to carry it.
| Session | What it does | Milestone witnessed |
|---|---|---|
| E-S1 · The First Ground | Meets the starting point without verdicts — baselines taken honestly, first reactions on paper. | E1 · I know my starting point |
| E-S2 · The Wonder Mirror | Meets the student's story in wonder-language, not conclusions. | E2 · I've met my story — with curiosity, not verdicts |
| E-S3 · The Wide World | Celebrates exploration beyond the default. For ICSE & Cambridge it doubles as The Basket Sitting — the subject choice closed on evidence before the school's deadline. | E4 · I explored more widely than I would have alone (+ E3 where a real subject decision exists) |
| Worksheet | The proof it leaves in the student's hands |
|---|---|
| E-01 Who Am I Becoming | An identity sketch in the student's own words — the first self-portrait. |
| E-02 My First Compass | Values clarification, junior form (12 cards, keep 5). |
| E-03 The Aspiration Line | “Where my sights are set — and who helped me aim.” |
| E-04 Subjects & Me | The one page that flexes by board: a binding basket sheet for ICSE/Cambridge; a low-stakes reflection for CBSE/IB. |
| E-05 My Circle of Guides | A map of the people who shape this student — the seed of all later family work. |
| E-06 First Skill Check | A first self-observation of everyday skills, in age-true language. |
| E-07 A Letter to My Grade 9 Self | Sealed at year-end; opened at the start of the Grade 9 journey. |
| E-P1 The Expectations Conversation (parents) | The family's hopes put on the table early — so the journey and the home pull in the same direction. |
| Session | What it does | Milestone witnessed |
|---|---|---|
| D-S1 · Foundation & Starting Line | Walks the student's own report as a mirror, not a crystal ball — after the student has shown they've truly read it. | D1 · I know how I have changed since last year |
| D-S2 · First Mirror Session™ | The student says their story first; the report is the second opinion, never the first draft. | D2 · I can say my story in my own words |
| D-S3 · Breadth Exploration Cycle | Widens the map — three worlds of work, one real interview, one brave ask rehearsed and then made for real. | D3 · I explored three worlds and interviewed one real person |
| D-S4 · Year-End Reflection | Finds the thread across the year's pages; hands the pen to Grade 10. | D4 · I can see this year's growth |
| Worksheet | The proof it leaves in the student's hands |
|---|---|
| D-01 My Starting Line | The first honest read of their own report — the hidden shifts named. |
| D-02 My Story in My Own Words | The identity narrative, drafted before any label can write it for them. |
| D-03 What Lights Me Up | The difference between what they do and what they value — passion as grown, not found. |
| D-04 My Circle of People | Who shapes them — and what parts of them each person brings to the surface. |
| D-05 Exploring Three Worlds and One Real Voice | Three worlds of work mapped; one real professional interviewed about a normal Tuesday. |
| D-06 One Brave Ask | A bounded, real request made in the real world — a “no” still counts. |
| D-07 My Growth Ledger | One metric tracked for a month — confidence built on evidence, not mood. |
| D-08 My Discovery-Year Look-Back | The year synthesised; archived as the Grade 10 baseline. |
| Session | What it does | Milestones witnessed |
|---|---|---|
| M-S1 · The Mirror Session™ (Relieve) | The student meets themselves with relief, not judgement — their Golden Thread© and Core Tension© named in their own words. | M1 · M2 |
| M-S2 · The Compass (Resolve) | Values defended with their costs; interest and ability argued against real evidence; a shortlist built to be tested, not defended. | M3 · M4 · opens M5 |
| M-S3 · The Bridge (Release · family present) | The family joins the table; hopes are mapped to evidence; the stream decision closes — together. | M6 · M7 |
| M-S4 · The Anchor | Commitment gets hands and feet: a six-week skill sprint designed, the Anchor Page written and signed. | M8 |
| Year-end close | The Look-Back written against the year's own baseline; a letter sealed for the Grade 11 self; the counsellor countersigns. | M9 |

| Session | What it does | Milestones witnessed |
|---|---|---|
| T-S1 · The Reality Check | Did the choice survive ~90 days of real load? The correction window is used — or knowingly closed. | T1 |
| T-S2 · The Second Mirror | Reads the year-on-year deltas — who this student is under real pressure. | T2 |
| T-S3 · The Road Map | Exams, deadlines, doors — the competitive and global pathway map, owned by the student. | T3 |
| T-S4 · The Proof & The Plan | The real-world proof project debriefed; Grade 12 planned backwards from its deadlines; family briefed. | T4 · T5 |
| Worksheet | The proof it leaves in the student's hands |
|---|---|
| T-01 The 90-Day Verdict | Keep / adjust / pivot — decided on evidence, not mood. |
| T-02 The Correction Window | What can still change, and by when (board-specific — e.g. the IB HL/SL switch window). |
| T-03 Me, Then vs Now | The delta sheet — growth made visible year on year. |
| T-04 My Subjects Under Load | How the chosen depth actually feels — signal separated from noise. |
| T-05 The Pathway Map | The doors and their gates — CUET / JEE / NEET / CLAT, or UCAS / SAT, per the student's road. |
| T-06 The Deadline Ledger | Every date that matters, each with an owner. |
| T-07 The Proof Project Charter | What will be tested in the real world — internship, shadow, or build — and how success will be known. |
| T-08 What Reality Taught Me | The proof-project debrief: evidence in, verdict out. |
| T-09 Backwards from the Finish Line | Grade 12 planned from its deadlines, not its hopes. |
| T-10 The Family Depth Brief | The family briefed; one concrete supporting action agreed. |
| Session | What it does | Milestones witnessed |
|---|---|---|
| L-S1 · The Lock | The application list locked across ambition tiers — early where the board's clock demands it (e.g. mid-October UCAS deadlines). | L1 |
| L-S2 · The Story Forge | Personal statements built from the student's own accumulated evidence — their Golden Thread© file, not adjectives. | L2 |
| L-S3 · The Decision Session | Decision criteria weighted before offers arrive — so the choice is made with weighted eyes, not the emotion of results. | L4 |
| L-S4 · The Handover | Exit reflection, showcase portfolio, and the journey handed over — with pride. | L5 |
| The Season Watch (rhythm, not a sitting) | Fortnightly check-ins through application season; help asked for early, and honoured. | L3 |
| Worksheet | The proof it leaves in the student's hands |
|---|---|
| L-01 The Ambition Tiers | Reach / match / anchor — an honest three-tier list. |
| L-02 The Lock Page | Signed, dated, tiered — the list stops moving. |
| L-03 My Evidence Bank | Four years of proof harvested into usable application material. |
| L-04 The Story Skeleton | The personal-statement architecture, in the student's own evidence. |
| L-05 The Season Calendar | Every deadline and every ask, on one page. |
| L-06 My Help Signals | What asking-for-help looks like for this student — agreed before the season, watched throughout. |
| L-07 The Criteria Weights | Decision criteria weighted before any offer exists. |
| L-08 The Offer Grid | Offers scored against the pre-weighted criteria. |
| L-09 The Five-Year Look-Back | The whole journey read end to end. |
| L-10 Handing Over My Garden | Showcase portfolio and the closing handover page. |
The milestone statements are identical for every board — every Grade 10 student must be able to say “my stream is chosen on evidence.” Only the decision points and the clock flex. The real forks are at Grade 8 (where ICSE and Cambridge make an early subject choice) and Grade 10 (where every board decides, differently).
| Grade | CBSE | ICSE / ISC | Cambridge | IB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| G8 | Pure exploration year — no forced decision; E-04 runs as reflection. | Second language + Group III elective chosen on evidence (E3), before the school's deadline. | The IGCSE basket (6–9 subjects) chosen on evidence (E3) — binding two years. | MYP 3 — open ground; E-04 runs as reflection. |
| G9 | Identical for all four boards — the one decision-free year. Context differs (ICSE's two-year course begins; Cambridge discovers inside the IGCSE choice; MYP 4 adds service-learning as a natural exploration channel); the journey does not. | |||
| G10 | Stream chosen: Science / Commerce / Humanities. | ISC stream + exact subject combination; the arc completes before board-exam leave. | 3–4 A Levels — the sharpest narrowing in any system; every combination shown with university doors opening and closing. | Six DP subjects at HL/SL — the heaviest single decision; the family Bridge sitting matters most here. |
| G11 | Validation + the CUET / JEE / NEET / CLAT map. | Validation on the ISC road; same competitive map. | AS year; the abroad clock (UCAS / SAT) starts. | DP1; the HL/SL correction window is built into T1 by design. |
| G12 | Boards + entrance season. | ISC boards + entrance season. | A2; UCAS locks mid-October for Oxbridge and medicine — the Lock comes early. | DP2; applications ride on predicted grades — the Season Watch weighs most here. |
A school is a configuration, never an exception: your boards per grade, your subject offerings, and three calendar dates (board-leave, subject-lock, application deadlines) shape the journey — the content itself never forks per school.
| Layer | Role in the journey |
|---|---|
| The VIP+™ Career Pathway Report | The mirror each year's work reads from — values, interests, personality (PAA™) and skills (DAT+M™) woven into one narrative, with Manan™ the Guide available inside the report whenever the student has a question. |
| The workbooks | My Garden™ — the student's own pages, grade by grade. The written proof behind every milestone. |
| Living SkillBench™ courses | Each worksheet's “go do this” hands into a short skills course, so reflection is always paired with practice. |
| The counsellor — and the Career Architect Workspace™ | The counsellor is the centre of every sitting; the Workspace™ is their secure panel — each student's journey, milestones and reports in one place, with student data protected by strict access tiers. |
